Act.4 Sc.5

Nurse (approaching the bed)

Classic Version

Mistress! What mistress! Juliet!-Fast, I warrant her, she-
Why lamb, why lady! Fie you slugabed!
Why love, I say! Madam! Sweetheart! Why thy bride!-
What, not a word?- You take your pennyworths now.
Sleep for a week, for the next night, I warrant,
The County Paris hath set up his rest.
That you shall rest but little.- God forgive me,
I needs must wake her.- Madam, madam, madam!
Ay, let the County take you in your bed,
He'll fright you up, I' faith.- Will it not be?
[She opens the bed's curtains]
What, dressed, and in your clothes, and down again?
I must needs wake you. Lady, lady, lady!-
Alas, alas! Help, help! My lady's dead.-
O, weraday, that ever I was born!-
Some aqau vitae, ho!- My lord! My lady!

Modern Version

Mistress! Hey, mistress! Juliet, I bet she's fast asleep!
Hey lamb, hey lady! Hey you sleepyhead!
Hey, love I say! Madam! Sweetheart! Hey, bride!
Why aren't you saying anything! Take your beauty sleep now.
Get yourself a weeks worth of sleep.
Tomorrow night, I bet County Paris won't allow you to get much sleep.
God forgive me. Alright, amen. Oh my, she's fast asleep.
I must wake her up. Juliet, Juliet, Juliet!
Yes, let the County take you in your bed. He'll wake you up, I think, won't he?
(she opens the bed's curtains)
OMG! What? Your still in your pyjamas!
And you're still asleep! I must wake you up!
Lady! Lady! Lady! Uh-oh! Oh no!
HELP, HELP! My lady's dead! Oh curse the day that I was born!
Get me some brandy! My lord! My lady!
